A NOTE FROM THE SEWING GROUP

HELP!  Help! Our Sewing Group has received a challenge from our local Salvation Army.  They are asking us to make a large number of quilts {80 – 100} for their Fall Supper in mid Sept. So, we will need lots of help.

You do not need to sew as we have many other jobs that need doing.

{1} We need people to measure, and mark the size, of our existing quilt tops. We have quite a number.

{2} Backs need to be made for the above.  We have material for that. Please press the seams.

{3} To assemble the quilts we need people to put the layers together & we tie the quilts together. Someone then needs to complete the quilt by sewing around the edges.

{4} We do have squares (various sizes) that need to be laid out in patterns & then sewn together.  The church tables work well for that. We also have sewing machines at the church so it can be done there or at home.

{5} We also have material that needs to be cut – we have cutting boards & cutters at the church- for making quilt tops.

I am open to suggestions as to how we can get this project done.  We could get together one extra day a week, a full day on Wednesdays or other suggestions you may have.  Please let me know. Alice @ 306-773-6759 or the church.  Thanks!

The announcements will be updated on the website; stolaf.ca
